‘Cliff at Watermouth 1796’ by John Swete, 1796. This watercolour on paper depicts, from the beach, the cliff formations at Watermouth, on the North Devon Coast, near Ilfracombe.

John Swete (1752-1821) was an artist local to the Devon area who was also known for being the author of the Picturesque Sketches of Devon.
