GENERAL SUMMARY. July, 1920, in Missouri, -was relatively dry and cool, withnearly normal sunshine, and wind movement. From the sideof personal comfort it was nearly an ideal summer month. In most of the northwestern plateau and practically all ofthe southeastern lowlands showers were of sufficient frequencyand adequate in amounts for nearly normal crop growth; butin the other three divisions the total rainfall fell somewhatshort of the proper supply for best results. Following a dry June the continued lack of moisture in Julyaggravated the drouth conditions to some extent, especially inparts of the southwestern plain thence northeast embracing tlienorthern slope of the Ozarks and the lower section of the north-eastern plain.
