Description

Clongriffin is currently serviced by a small supermarket (a Centra, which also contains a sub-post office), a pharmacy, an off-license, barbers, Chinese restaurant and crèche. Most of these are at the beginning of the main street, while the planned retail facilities at the central plaza, including a Superquinn supermarket, have not materialized. There are a significant number of empty shop units in Clongriffin although four of these units are reserved for a butchers, a fruit and vegetable shop, a bookmaker and a larger Centra.

A central shopping facility is planned to the north of Clongriffin's central plaza (above the Park and Ride facility), but is currently entirely unoccupied. Superquinn are contracted to act as anchor tenant for the shopping centre but the original opening date of late 2008 (which was to coincide with a previous opening date for the DART station) has passed and no revised date has been set.
