| Description |
English: Coach parking bays, Charlton Way, Greenwich Greenwich as a World Heritage Site attracts coachloads of visitors. Banned from parking in the town centre, most turn off the A2 at Blackheath and park here along Charlton Way.
An unusual feature is that many are from overseas with left-hand-drive coaches that therefore discharge passengers from the right side. Charlton Way is one-way so they have to face east, meaning that passengers step into the middle of the road. Hence the pedestrian walkway marked out on the road to keep cars away from the coach doors. |
