Object history
English: Coat of arms of the former Danish municipality of Helsinge. Adopted 1964 and registered 1971. The sun and cross represents the ancient inhabitation of the area where Christianity eventually replaced heathen sun worship. The sun also represents tourism. The fountain refers to the Helenekilde sacred spring which was a site of pilgrimage believed to possess healing properties since at least the 1200's. The fountain and sun is carried over from the arms of the former Vejby-Tibirke civil parish which was one of the civil parishes that were merged to form the municipality.
Dansk: Den tidligere Helsinge Komunes våben. Registreret 1971.
