I y IV contracuartelado 1º y 3º de oro, un árbol de sinople terrasado de lo mismo y a su tronco un lobo pasante de sable lampasado de gules; 2º y 4º de plata un águila [bicéfala] de sable, orla de sangre cargada de ocho castillos de oro, sobre el todo de lo mismo, tres fajas de gules y cargado de tres flores de lis de azur bien colocadas, dos en la primera pieza y una en la segunda; II y III cuartelado de cruz cántabra de oro, 1º, dos castillos de piedra natural [de oro] en campo de sinople; 2º de azur, dos medias lunas de plata con trece estrellas de oro alrededor; 3º plata, un león de sangre rampante con lengua, uñas y corona de oro; 4º de plata, esta un tejo y atado un oso con una cadena a una rama quebrada. Todo el escudo está cercado de una orla de oro cargada de trece veneras azules sobre la orla, y en cada venera un hábito del Señor Santiago. El todo rodeado de una cinta de plata con la leyenda "Gaudeamus viros gloriosos et parentes nostros in generatione sua", (Honremos a nuestros gloriosos antepasados en todas las generaciones). Rodeando todo ello trae trece banderas azur, cargada cada una de una luna de plata, menguante, con las puntas hacia abajo, que significan trece batallas ganadas en la reconquista. Por timbre un yelmo y encima de éste, un león gules con corona, lengua y uñas de oro, de cuya boca sale una cinta de plata que dice este versículo del capítulo 44 del sagrado libro de Eclesiastés: "Ecce beatificamos eos qui sustinuerunt" (Aquí honramos a aquellos que perseveraron). Pendiente de la punta la encomienda de la Real Maestranza de Caballería de Sevilla. Por lema: "Fidele Deo, regis et patriae", (Fieles a Dios, al rey y a la patria). |
