Español: Escudo de Mons. Juan Pedro Juárez Meléndez, adaptado de la descripción original:
  • Lema: Iglesia Discípula y Misionera , inspirado en el tema de la V Conferencia General del Episcopado Latinoamericano y del Caribe (CELAM): "Discípulos y Misioneros de Jesucristo, para que nuestros pueblos en Él tengan vida".
  • Centro, una Cruz Misionera al estilo franciscano, símbolo de la misión: Jesucristo misionero del Padre; la Iglesia misionera de Cristo.
  • En el fondo blanco [plata], símbolo indígena de la palabra: solo quien escucha la Palabra de Dios se hace discípulo.
  • En el fondo rojo [gules], huellas: símbolo del mensajero que lleva la Palabra. El discípulo es enviado a predicar: "Vayan y prediquen a todas las gentes" (Mc 16, 15).
  • En el fondo amarillo [oro], las raíces culturales de la Diócesis [de Tula]: expresadas en el símbolo flor y canto.
  • En el fondo verde [sinople], el Campo de la Misión con sus retos y desafíos: sociedad urbana industrial (engrane): el Valle del Mezquital y de la Sierra (bisnaga) donde viven los hermanos campesinos e indígenas y las familias de los emigrantes.
