Object history La primera referencia documental de este díptico remite al inventario de 1772 del Palacio Real de Madrid, donde estaba atribuido a la escuela de Durero. Expoliado durante la Guerra de la Independencia Española por José Bonaparte, fue recuperado por el duque de Wellington. Finalmente, el monarca Fernando VII se lo regaló junto al resto de obras recuperadas. Actualmente se conserva en la Apsley House de Londres. Una réplica autógrafa, formada por una sola tabla, se conserva en el Museo de Bellas Artes de Sevilla (CE0046P).
