Description
English: The pedestrian bridge for the Cold Spring Metro-North railroad station as seen from the 1930-built Lunn Terrace Bridge over the Metro-North Hudson Line in Cold Spring, New York. Lunn Terrace provides a connection for motorists between the east and west side of historic Cold Spring, whose Main Street has been bisected by the former New York Central Railroad Hudson Division since the late-1920's, and has had a pedestrian tunnel connecting the two sides of the street since 1929. Metro-North's replacement of the former New York Central Depot with the standard high-level platform, footbridge and elevators design, has not diminished the use of either the tunnel at Main Street or the bridge from where this picture was taken.
