Summary

edit
Description College of DuPage welding student Martin Zavala got some unexpected hands-on training recently when the school’s Facilities department found a crack on one of their vehicle’s aluminum lift gates. Looking to turn the discovery into a learning experience, welding instructor David Ellis coached Zavala through the repair, which enabled the student to demonstrate his advanced skills for students in an introductory course. In addition to the repair work, Zevala also demonstrated shaping the tungsten electrode for alternating current welding.
