Mike Farrell takes a turn on a student-built hovercraft during Folsom High School's seventh annual Engineering Challenge April 11, 2014, in Folsom, Calif., to help encourage students to pursue careers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM). Student projects included: hovercrafts, catapults, Tesla coils, electromagnetic propulsion devices, pneumatic wind turbines, voice synthesizers, hydrogen fuel cells, solar electric boats and cars, gene transformation, and orthopedic implants.
