Colonic Adenocarcinoma ex Villous Adenoma Upper left: Villous adenoma grows into the lumen of the colon but does not invade the muscular wall. Upper right: Mucinous adenocarcinoma, presumably arising from the villous adenoma, plunges through the muscularis propria with impunity. Whole-mount scan on a Epson Perfection V750 PRO flatbed scanner. Scanned at 2400 spi and enhanced the contrast with the Levels command in Photoshop. The original histologic preparation is about 25 years old. |
