Summary edit

Description
English: Postcard of the Columbia Valley Bank's second home, built in 1906 after the filling in of Wenatchee's public diamond created four new plots of land at the intersection of Wenatchee and Orondo Avenues. It was one of the rare commercial projects of architect Willis A. Ritchie, best known for his courthouse designs in the 1890s. The building was a near replica of the Coeur D'Alene Bank & Trust Company's building in Idaho, completed by Ritchie in 1905 for J.J. Browne of Spokane, who owned both banks along with several of his brothers. That building still stands, though greatly altered. A miniature version was designed for the Browne-owned Cashmere State Bank in 1909, which also still stands. The bank's original triangular home, Wenatchee's first brick building, can be seen on the left, the odd gap was eventually filled in by a new building. Columbia Valley Bank would eventually be absorbed by the National Bank of Commerce who would raze the complex in the 1960s for a new modern bank building.
