This was the first road bridge built over the Columbia south of Canada in 1908. It was also used to pipe irrigation water over the river and continues to deliver water for over 4000 acres in Douglas County to this day. The bridge no longer carries auto traffic but has become part of the Apple Capital Recreation Loop Trail, joining Wenatchee and East Wenatchee with a pedestrian and biking trail.
