Description

Fans in the Franklin County Stadium watch as an unidentified player for the Columbus Clippers warms up in the on deck circle during a game in the 1979 baseball season. Clippers batboy Gabe Shoffstall (#6) stands nearby. In 1979, the Clippers went 85-54 and won both the International League pennant and the Governor's Cup by defeating Tidewater 3-1 in the semifinals and Syracuse 4-3 in the championship. The Clippers were the AAA baseball affiliate team for the New York Yankees.
