Português: Após um recente relatório das Nações Unidas que denunciava a presença de crianças-soldado dentro do Exército Nacional da Somália e de milícias aliadas, o governo somali e a UNSOM -- Missão de Assistência da ONU no país -- deram início ao recrutamento de pessoas aptas e dispostas a fazer parte do regime militar.
Com o apoio das forças de paz da União Africana, o exército nacional somali está engajado em combater a ação do grupo jihadista Al-Shabaab. Profundamente impactado pelo colapso do governo central em 1991, hoje o exército procura se reestruturar para restaurar a ordem após duas décadas de incessantes conflitos no país. |
