Summary edit

Description
English: Combe Road, Jericho, Oxford. The Old Bookbinder pub ("Established 1869") on Canal Street is seen here at the other end of Combe Road from the Oxford Canal towpath. It was originally called The Bookbinders' Arms when it opened shortly after the Oxford University Press moved to Jericho in the mid-C18th when it catered for these craftsmen. The first episode of the ITV drama series "Inspector Morse" was called "The Dead of Jericho" and it was partially filmed in the local streets, notably Combe Road (called "Canal Reach" in the drama). Footage of the exterior of the pub was also used in it. It was called “The Printer's Devil” in this first episode however, because the internal scenes were not filmed in it, it may look disappointingly different to Morse aficionados.
