Summary

edit
Description
English: A Commonwealth Railways G class locomotive with a westbound Trans-Australian Express, at Tarcoola, South Australia, on the Trans-Australian Railway.

The number of the locomotive is not clear, but it appears to be G20, which was built by Toowoomba Foundry, Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia. G20 entered service in June 1917, and was officially withdrawn in May 1952. At the time this photo was taken early in its service life, it had a kerosene headlight.
