Description
Español: .- ¿Qué es una mujer? ¿Alguien creado por Dios? ¿Una costilla de Adán? ¿Ángel o demonio? ¿Un ser que amamanta? ¿Protector quizá? ¿Manipulador, maquiavélico, trastornado, enamorado, generoso, altruista, esperanzado?

English: .- What is a woman? Someone created by God? A rib of Adam? Angel or demon? A being that breastfeeds? Protector maybe? Manipulator, Machiavellian, deranged, in love, generous, altruistic, hopeful? According to some, a treacherous object of desire. Someone capable of giving his life for another, of snatching it? A dreamer, romantic inveterate, hardworking or laxative, ready or dull, fluctuating or disregarded, straight or sane, sick or lucid, hurt or clean?

Thoughts build certainties, realities about wants, fabricated by desires, dreams and fears, which in turn build currents of thought, morals and / or patterns of behavior.

The legend of Isabel Iª de Castilla is that of a singular and controversial woman. The present essay is a recount of anecdotes, testimonies, and representations. The legend is forged, idealized and versioned, over five centuries, in documents and voices that today seem childish and current. It is developed with the varied and abundant bibliography that chroniclers, writers, moralists, of political or religious inspiration have written about it, sometimes highly manipulative, fanatical or fantastic. Of its representations, adjectives and qualifications, Isabel will be considered a cruel or pious, generous or stingy, fanatical or pious, brave or submissive, governor or governed, lover or interested, according to one who dreams or conceives her interest and bander, the moment and circumstances in which the author writes, or the historical moment.

The written legend of Isabel as queen or woman is not coincidental, as almost nothing. Mitified or repudiated, the representations that are made of it over the centuries respond to the construction of thoughts that basically shape consciences, behaviors, customs and laws in the image and likeness of their interests.
