Notes
  • Significance: It was built by the County of Philadelphia in 1789. It was occupied by the Congress of the U.S. from 1790-1800. The building was enlarged in 1793, altered considerably in the 19th century and restored in 1896 and 1912. The city of Philadelphia still holds title, but the building has been maintained as a part of the Independence National Historical Park since 1951.
  • Survey number: HABS PA-1431
