Italiano: la superficie rigata è generata dal movimento di una retta lungo tre direttrici.

Una retta, detta sostegno, è comune a tutti i piani passanti per le generatrici. Le altre due direttrici, dette di bordo, possono essere di qualsiasi tipo. In base al tipo e alla posizione delle direttrici di bordo, le superfici rigate possono includere: - Rigate quadriche: le direttrici di bordo sono coniche corrispondenti. - Rigate elicoidali: le direttrici di bordo sono eliche.
