Español: Conjunto de remates de arpones compuestos. Esquimales Chugach, Ártico, Estados Unidos y Canadá. Siglo XVIII. Material: Pizarra, concha, madera, hueso y peil. Museo de América. Números de inventario 2871, 2874, 2876 y 2866. Descripciones, de izquierda a derecha:
  • Arpón formado por un vástago de hueso con el extremo proximal terminado en punta cónica y en el distal presenta una ranura donde se ha insertado una punta de forma triangular. El vástago tiene dos incisiones en forma de dientes. Conserva una funda de madera bivalva, con varias vueltas de tendón para unir ambas partes y forrada con cuero. Longitud: 21 cm; anchura: 3,40 cm. Punta: Longitud: 7,60 cm. Nº inv. 02866.
  • Arpón compuesto por un vástago de hueso con dos líneas incisas en el tercio proximal. En el extremo distal presenta una ranura donde se ha insertado una punta triangular de piedra pulida. Longitud: 28 cm; altura máxima: 1,20 cm. Punta: Altura : 6,70 cm; anchura: 1,90 cm. Nº inv. 02871.
  • Arpón formado por cabeza y astil unidos con tiras de tendón. En el extremo distal de la cabeza presenta un ranura donde se inserta una punta triangular de concha; en el lado opuesto tiene embutido un astil de hueso. Los extremos de la cabeza y el astil presentan perforaciones circulares para el paso de tiras de tendón y fibra vegetal que permiten unirlos entre sí. Longitud: 23,60 cm; anchura: 1,70 cm. Punta: Altura: 6,20 cm; anchura: 2 cm. Nº inv. 02876.
  • Arpón compuesto por un vástago de madera con una ranura en el extremo distal donde se inserta una punta triangular de piedra reforzada con tiras de fibra vegetal. Longitud: 17,70 cm; anchura: 2,50 cm. Nº inv. 02874.
