Description
English: A U.S. Navy Consolidated PBY-5A Catalina is loaded with depth charges and bombs at Adak in the Aleutians, in 1943. Note the derelict Consolidated B-24/PB4Y Liberator in the background.
Note: The date given is "1 November 1943". However, the aircraft wear national markings as used between May 1942 and early 1943. A similar view of the same aircraft dates the photo to "circa spring 1943".
