Description FOLSOM, Calif. (Jan. 24, 2011) - Looking east in an aerial view of the Folsom Dam, prior to construction of the Folsom Lake Crossing bridge. The U. S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District was authorized to build the bridge in 2004, after security concerns closed the road atop the dam, a major commuter thoughway, in 2003. The Corps completed the bridge in March 2009.
