Description
English: The CSG consists of 18 countries that adhere to the same values and principles on open and unimpeded access to international maritime markets. Denmark holds the chairmanship and secretariat function of the CSG.

The Consultative Shipping Group (CSG) consists of 18 countries in Europe, Asia and Canada that all adhere to the same values and principles of open and unimpeded access to international maritime markets. The group meets on an annual basis and, furthermore, works closely together with the Cotton Club that consists of the CSG countries' permanent representatives in Washington DC. The main task of the CSG is to monitor and react to discriminating, restrictive or unilateral shipping policy measures. Dialogue meetings are also being held with the American Administration on shipping-related issues approximately every second year, with the exchange of views, clarification and increased mutual understanding - but always so that the overall message about open markets and free trade is being retained.

The CSG 2014 conference was opened by Joe COX, chairman of the American Chamber of Shipping, and Eric BANEL, chairman of the French Chamber of Shipping.
