English: Control weir at Orchardleigh Lake Orchardleigh is an artificial lake made by damming one of the streams feeding the river Frome.
The near archway was built over a spillweir which controls the level of the lake, there is a sluice under the far arch used to drain the lake when it is necessary to retrieve drowned fishermen. For more information and pictures see Orchardleigh_Lake |
