English: Coronation Green and Footbridge The footbridge was built in 1921 to replace a ferry service that crossed the river at this point. It was built with a drawbridge in the middle which required a toll until 1950 though these days it is rarely raised as all commercial activity now takes place along the eastern arm of the river. The flats in the background are Atlantic Court. |
