Español: Con 48 años consecutivos de actividad, el Coro de la Universidad Central del Ecuador, es el segundo coro más antiguo de la ciudad capital. Fue creado por el Consejo Universitario, el 22 de Noviembre de 1960 y fue dirigido por el profesor austriaco Victor Birger. Ha tenido varios directores destacados como Corcino Durán, Carlos Bonilla, Maestro Gerardo Guevara, Lcdo. Eugenio Auz y actualmente es dirigido por el Maestro César Chauvin, con quien en estos siete años de fructuosa actividad ha logrado numerosos reconocimientos y múltiples participaciones en festivales nacionales e internacionales.
Perteneciente a la Asociación Ecuatoriana de Canto Coral AECC, ha formado parte de procesos de integración de la actividad coral en importantes acontecimientos como: Quito Legendario, Inti Raymi, Sueño de Noche Buena, Pase del Niño 2003. Además de participar en las cuatro versiones del Festival Ecuatoriano de Coros Universitarios y del 1er Festival Internacional del mismo nombre, realizado en la actualidad por la Universidad Tecnológica América El repertorio del Coro Universitario es renovado cada año, en el cual se incluye desde la música académica universal que va desde el canto gregoriano hasta la música contemporánea, dándose un enfoque primordial a la música ecuatoriana y latinoamericana. Sus integrantes son netamente estudiantes de la Universidad Central que por inclinación al canto, reciben formación en técnica vocal y humana.Español: BIOGRAFIA: Mstr. César Chauvin.
Director del Coro de la Universidad Central del Ecuador Oriundo de Loja, después de iniciar sus estudios en el Conservatorio Salvador Bustamante Celi de la ciudad de Loja culmino sus estudios en el Conservatorio Ciprian Porumbescu de Bucarest en Rumania. Fue rector de los Conservatorios de Loja y profesor de los Conservatorios de Quito y Guayaquil, ha sido director y profesor de técnica vocal de diversos coros del país. |
