| Description |
English: Corporation Street In 1929 an area of just over 6 acres of the city centre was cleared of 85 dwellings; 6 inns; 7 factories and workshops and 27 shops, warehouses and stores* in order to build Corporation Street and thereby relieve traffic congestion. Corporation Street opened in 1931, but very few of its 1930s buildings survive, most of it being 1950s-1980s in date. This is one of the earlier ones, occupied by an independent shoe retailer.
