Numărul 19 al Prunculuĭ Romăn anunță o colecție; nevinovatul Prunc cere pentru maĭca sa, el cere și priimește ori cât de mic va fi darul. — De și strein și calomniat de enemiciĭ mieĭ, voiŭ să iaŭ parte la această faptă. Aflândumă astăzĭ în lipsă de banĭ, trimiț Prunculuĭ un inel al mieŭ de diamant și o podoabă de granate a soțieĭ mele. Bine vroițĭ a le pune spre vânzare și prețul lor îl vețĭ depune la casa adunăriĭ.

Sacrifițiu este mic, dar și puterile mele de astăzĭ sînt micĭ, dea Domnul să mă 'nsănătoșesc să pociŭ lucra, și zeciuială muncelor mele o depuiŭ la casa colecțiĭ. Aș fi vroit să continuiŭ scrisoarea, dar periodul frigurilor mă întrerumpe.

Dear editors.

The 19th issue of Pruncul Român [the Romanian Infant] is announcing a collection; the innocent Infant is asking for something to bring to his mother; he asks and receives no matter how small the present would be. — Even though I am far away and vilified by my enemies, I want to contribute to this cause. Being out of money at the moment, I am sending the Infant a diamond ring of mine and a garnet trinket of my wife. Please put them on sale and deposit their price at the assembly venue.

It is a small sacrifice, but I am not capable of much at the moment, may God help me recover my health so I can work, and I will deposit the tenth of my profits for the collection. I would have continued the letter, but the winter season is limiting me.
