Summary edit

Description Native, cool-season, annual, erect to spreading, hairless and somewhat fleshy herb to 20 cm tall. Leaves are linear to oblong, about 2 cm long. Lower leaves are entire or have a few remote teeth or lobes; upper leaves are smaller, with entire margins. Heads are terminal and axillary, solitary and 5–12 mm wide; their stalks exceed the leaves. Outer female florets are in 1 row and lack corollas. Inner florets are bisexual, with tubular, 4-toothed, yellow corollas. Grows in damp, often saline, disturbed communities
