Description

Philadelphia Parks & Recreation Commissioner Kathryn Ott Lovell joined Philadelphia City Council President Darrell Clarke to celebrate the opening of a brand new playground at 11th and Venango Streets in North Philadelphia.

The Williams Moore Reed Memorial Park was named in honor of Keisha Williams and three of her children - 15 year old Keiearra Williams, 10 year old Joseph Reed Jr., and 7 year old Terrance Williams Moore. In 2014, the family was tragically struck and killed by a carjacked vehicle nearby the site of the new park. The incident occurred while the family was selling fruit at a stand at the intersection of Germantown and Allegheny Avenue to raise money for their local church’s effort to build a playground in the community.
