Summary
editDescriptionCourt mantua dress at Tullie House Museum A (23).JPG |
Blue silk and gold-embroidered court mantua dress at Tullie House Museum, Carlisle, Cumbria, England. It belonged to the 18th-century Carlisle miser Margery Jackson (1722-1812), and dates from around 1750. It is unusual in that it still retains the stomacher (front bodice panel). Note to editors: my photos through glass are artworks, which purposely include reflections, glare etc. For my photos, that is all part of the content, how you see it in real life, and how I have interpreted it. If you wish to create a different version, please do not overwrite my artworks. You are very welcome to upload your own preferred version on another image file. |
