(21.75 cm x 37.15 cm) Publisher: Tsutaya Juzaburo Credit Line: Bequest of Cora Timken Burnett Label Copy: "Although he was born as a high-ranking samurai and was trained as a classical painter, Eishi preferred to work in the popular print medium that catered to the merchant class. Here the artist depicts courtesans and their attendants peering out a window at an embankment of the waterway that leads to the red light district of Yoshiwara. They seem to eagerly await the clients coming via palanquin, the covered sedan chair borne by two porters. " Label Copy (Spanish): "Auque fue samurai de rango alto por nacimiento y se instruy como pintor clsico, Eishi prefiri trabajar en el medio popular del grabado que satisfaca a la clase comerciante. Aqu el artista representa a cortesanas y a sus asistentes mirando por la ventana hacia un terrapln del canal que conduce a la zona roja de Yoshiwara. Parecen esperar ansiosamente a los clientes que vienen en palanqun, la silla cubierta cargada por dos mozos."
