Summary
editDescriptionCoventry Transport Museum bus "Peeping Tom" (PDU 125M) 1973 Daimler Fleetline East Lancs, Coventry City FC livery, 2 April 2011.jpg |
English: Coventry Transport Museum's bus Peeping Tom (reg. PDU 125M), a 1973 Daimler Fleetline double-decker with open top East Lancs bodywork, pictured at the museum in Coventry, West Midlands. Built locally in Coventry, it was the last Daimler Fleetline bus ever built, and the last new bus delivered to Coventry Transport, the city's municipal bus oeprator, whose operations were absorbed into the fleet of the West Midlands Passenger Transport Executive in 1974. Upon its withdrawal from service, it was donated to the museum by WMPTE in 1986. The museum converted it into an open top vehicle and painted it in this blue and white livery with the name "Peeping Tom", for use in the victory parade for Coventry City F.C. after their triumph in the 1987 FA Cup Final. It carries the message "Well done Sky Blues" (the club's nickname), aswell as advertising for sponsors Granada Bingo and Coventry Building Society. |
