English: Covered with lichens and mosses. This old coppiced tree stands by the public footpath, on the edge of Lord Anson's Wood, where its north-facing side is exposed to wind and rain. Bright ochre-coloured lichens can be seen growing on its trunk and its roots and base are covered with moss. For a wider view of the location see > 1029719. The woodland beyond appears to be untouched by human feet and no paths are leading into it; the remains of an old barbed wire fence indicate that this is a private woodland. |
