| Description |
English: Craiglockhart Pond Part of the Easter Craiglockhart Local Nature Reserve. The pond was a relatively sterile area until local environmental groups arranged for soil and waterscaping to be introduced so that marsh plants could be introduced. The fencing was to keep out marauding swans in the early stages, to allow moorhens, coots etc. to nest in peace. The vegetation now seems to be well established and there is a flourishing population of waterbirds and plants. |
