| Description |
English: Crane Accident in Dean Street Circa 1965, during the construction of the first extension to the School of Electronics, University of Bangor,the brakes of a crane failed to work on a cold morning. The crane trundled along it's rails, hit the end stop and toppled over. The concrete counterweight fell through the roof of the main lecture theatre. This occurred shortly before the tragedy at Aberfan which led to the Health and Safety at Work act. |
