| Description |
-Photo by Rick Swart, Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife- Crater Lake is in the Eagle Creek drainage in the southeast corner of the Eagle Cap Wilderness Area. The lake is at an elevation of 7,500 feet, is 12 acres in size with a maximum depth of 10 feet. This lake is best accessed from Forest Rd 77 and Trail 1946. About 6 miles beyond the junction of Road 77 and the East Fork Eagle River, take Forest Rd. 7732 northwest to its end. Trail 1946 leads northeast toward Pine Lake and then to Crater Lake. The hike is 7.7 miles long. Fish for rainbow trout and brook trout |
