English: A stone plaque at the entrance of the Village Museum in Bucharest, reminding the creation of the Herăstrău Park and surrounding area (1932-1937), during the reign of HM King Carol II of Romania. The text says: "Under the reign of our King Carol II, Mayors of the Capital City being Dem Dobrescu and Al. Donescu, in 1932-1937 the Colentina marshes were cleaned up and lakes Băneasa, Herăstrău, Floreasca were made, via large works at Buftea, as well as the derivation of the Ialomița river to Bilciureşti, to heal the Capital of the country and embelish it. This work was done by Uzinele Comunale București ("Communal Plants Bucharest"), Gen. Director being Dipl. Eng. Nicolae Caranfil"
Română: O placă memorială aflată la intrarea Muzeului Satului din București, care amintește de crearea Parcului Herăstrău și a zonei înconjurătoare (1932-1937), în timpul domniei MS Regelui Carol al II-lea al României. Textul spune: „Sub domnia Regelui nostru Carol II, Primarii Capitalei fiind Dem Dobrescu, Al. Donescu, în anii 1932-1937 s’a făcut asanarea mlaștinelor Colentinei înfăptuindu-se lacurile Băneasa Herăstrău Floreasca prin mari lucrări la Buftea precum și derivarea de ape din râul Ialomița la Bilciurești ca să însănătoșească Capitala Țării și să o înfrumosețeze. Această lucrare a fost făcută de Uzinele Comunale București, Director Gen. fiind ing. Nicolae Caranfil” |
