Description
English: So-called Portrait of Isabel Clara Eugenia of Spain (1566-1633), daughter of Philip II of Spain, but is probably a depiction of her sister Catalina Micaela of Spain (1567-1597).
  • Identification proposed by user Ecummenic (talk) based on the comparison with some portraits of Catalina Micaela (see images below) and the lack of physical resemblance of the sitter of this portrait to verified representations of Isabel Clara Eugenia. Two engravings that are evidently derivations of the same original from which this work also comes are misidentified as depictions of Catherine Renata of Austria [1] [2].
