Description Larger crocodiles are put into pits just outside the building of the hatchlings. To access the pits, one has to climb a few steps to a metal walkway, from where you can get a good overview of the beasts below. Again, my aversion to bus tours came to the fore here. Thanks to the narrow walkway, we had to walk in single row, or at most double file. People were blocking the path, taking pictures etc., while the guide at the far end was giving some information about the crocs below which we could not hear due to the crowd and all the people in between. Here is a croc pit full of smaller adult crocs. (Puerto Princesa, Philippines, May 2013)
