Notes
  • 1987 Charles E. Peterson Prize, Honorable Mention
  • Significance: The Crosby House was constructed in 1885 by W.H. Dupree and was surrounded by 80 acres of citrus groves. Mr. Dupree sold the house and 40 acres of land to George B. Crosby in 1903. Mr. Crosby and his wife, Mattie, worked the groves until their deaths in 1944 and 1968. The house was occupied until 1976 by their son, William. The house is presently unoccupied. The Crosby House is an excellent example of the dogtrot floor plan and has been unaltered since its original construction.
