Description
English: Cross section of resin filled, preserved sap wood of an old pine (Pinus sylvestris) stump. Growth rings from 1624-1737. The wood in this sample is formed by a fire scare appearing a few years before 1624. The wood was found in September 2005 south of Björbo, Dalarna, Sweden at about N 60º26'15" E14º40'2". The image is scanned and the resolution is 1000 dpi.
