Description
English: Crossing the line party held on board the U.S. Navy aircraft carrier USS Enterprise (CV-6), in 1938. King Neptune and his court inspect the "Pollywogs" assembled in the hangar of the ship before the commencement of the ceremonies. Captain Newton H. White, USN, Commanding Officer of the Enterprise accompanies King Neptune (actually Chief Machinist's Mate Krump of the ship's company).
