English: 1910 Croxton-Keeton cab for the Walden W Shaw Auto Livery Co., Chicago, Ill. (1907-1919) Early cabs of this manufacturer used a 38 hp 4 cylinder engine in a sturdy 115.5 in chassis. They offered cars with conventioonal or "shovel" type hood, the ladder called "French style". Like Renault, they fitted the radiator behind the engine. The cars were designed by Forst M. Keeton, and at least the cab bodies were manufactured by
Acme Veneer and Body Co. of Rahway, NJ. Walden W Shaw Livery Co. is a predecessor of the Hertz organisation. |
