English: Cryoturbation features in the clifftop west of Cave Hole This part of the cliff sits on top of the Portland stone, but below the level of the raised beach. The Purbeck beds show 'cryoturbation' features, where the Purbeck limestones have fragmented due to freezing and thawing of the sub-soil during the end of the last Ice Age. |
