Description
English: The Crystal Mill was constructed along the Crystal River in 1893 by George C. Eaton and B.S. Phillips as a power plant for the Sheep Mountain Tunnel and Mining Company. The mill used a water turbine to drive an air compressor which powered other machinery and tools in the nearby silver mines. It ceased operation in 1917 when the Sheep Mountain Mine closed. It is now an iconic image of Colorado.

This is an image of a place or building that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places in the United States of America. Its reference number is 85001493.
