Description
Español: Cubierta de la corbeta Abtao después del combate de Antofagasta del 28 de agosto de 1879, sostenida por ésta, la cañonera Magallanes y fuertes de tierra contra el blindado peruano Huáscar. Este encuentro ocasionó en la Abtao nueve muertos y 13 heridos además de diversos daños, parte de los cuales se aprecian en esta imagen, especialmente el palo mayor atravesado de parte a parte, el cual ha debido ser reforzado.

Entre los detalles de la cubierta es de notar uno de los cañones de 115 libras de este buque, parcialmente oculto por la verga del palo mayor, y la toldilla y la rueda del timón, así como la presencia de oficiales, marinería y artilleros de marina de la guarnición.
