Description
English: Ad for a series of blackface comedy shorts in the Cuckoo Comedies series starring Bobby Burns (in balckface with tophat) and Jobyna Ralston, on pages 1565 to 1568 of the August 23, 1919 Motion Picture News. The ads state that the films are "clean and wholesome fun" indicating how films with blackface actors were viewed at that time. It was not until the end of the 1930s that films with blackface actors disappeared from the U.S.
